We are thrilled to announce that Colorado State University‘s (CSU) Johnson Family Equine Hospital has achieved LEED Silver Certification. The 85,000-square-foot complex, located on CSU’s South Campus in Fort Collins, features surgical and imaging services, as well as extensive rehabilitation and therapeutic facilities. It has the capacity to provide outpatient care, long-term orthopedic patients, and gastrointestinal critical care. It also features a dedicated isolation unit.
Our Tetrad Real Estate+ Clark & Enersen + Hausmann Construction team developed, designed, and constructed the facility while carefully considering and implementing several sustainable features that resulted in its recent certification. Features include:
· Connection to open space and views to the foothills.
· Energy and water efficient fixtures installed throughout, achieving indoor water savings 35% above baseline and energy cost savings 37% above baseline.
· Rooftop solar photovoltaic array.
· Low-emitting materials used to promote occupant health.
· Central location to cultivate community and collaboration on South Campus.
· LED lighting and sensors utilized to control light usage depending on occupancy and daylighting.
· Veterinary space finishes that enhance comfort and health of humans and animal occupants.
